She is a graduate of the AUC in Cairo (Middle East studies) in 1986. MA from Menosota University in the US. Fsculty of Mass Media in 1987. She is the Photo Editor of Al Shorouk newspaper in Cairo, Egypt. She has worked as a photographer and graphic designer for children’s books at Dar-al-Fata al-Arabi Publishing House, photographer for AFP in Egypt and Palestine, photographer for Al Ahram Weekly from 1994-2005 and she served on the editorial board of Zawaya, an arts and culture magazine for Arab youth. She received her BA from the American University in Cairo in Middle Eastern Studies in 1986 and her MA from the University of Minnesota, School of Journalism and Mass Communication in 1987. Selected Exhibits in Egypt include : Atelier Le Caire, The Sony Gallery, Museum of Fine Arts, Alexandria, Nubian Museum, Town House Gallery, and The Palace of Arts. Her works travelled to the Photoforum in Switzerland, Witte de With Art Center, Holland, Fondation Tapies, Barcelona, Ifa Gallery, Stuttgart and Berlin, Noorderlicht Photo Festival, Holland, Aperture and The International Center of Photography in New York. She represented Egypt at the Bienal de Sمo Paulo in 2006.
